Professional Recognition

Selected to Rising Stars, Washington Law & Politics, 2017

Claire’s clients appreciate her ability to develop innovative solutions to their tax problems.  She provides her clients steady guidance through the entire process, serving as a buffer between the client and the IRS, to favorably resolve disputes. Claire gets her clients back to their business and lives as quickly and with as little stress as possible.

Claire is particularly skilled at discerning how the various components of a case fit together, understanding the consequences and likely results of each option, and formulating a successful resolution strategy for her clients. She draws heavily from her experience as a trial attorney for the United States Department of Justice, Tax Division, where she represented the government in tax cases, litigating a wide range of tax matters in U.S. district and bankruptcy courts around the nation. This experience affords a unique understanding of the government’s rationale and strategy in tax disputes, all to her clients’ advantage.

In addition to her regular caseload, Claire contributes to the University of Washington’s Federal Tax Clinic, where she offers her services as a volunteer attorney to low-income taxpayers throughout Washington state.

Claire is a Seattle transplant and enjoys taking full advantage of all the Pacific Northwest has to offer. In her spare time, she likes to ski and hike in the nearby mountains, or go camping and adventuring to new places, all with her husband and young daughter in tow.
